Don't Panic Mr Mannering!!

OK, everything's all fine and dandy now, it was a odec problem, since my last post, I've re done the finals and put them in a varying amount of codecs, some of them work on my laptop (vista), and all of them work on my home PC (XP), so at least 1 should work on the uni PC's.

Housten, we have a problem.

Arghh!! When I tried all three AVI files, (Indeo 5.10, Indeo 4.5, and DivX) and load them into WMP 11, the audio plays, but no video/

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING????

Editing part 3

Ok, to carry on, the final clip, I wanted it to zoom in on the final still image, so after reading afew ttorials on the internet, i realised I couldn't do this with a frozen video file, so I exported the clip as a sequence of GIF images, I only needed 1 frame, so I picked frame 93 as this the still frame that I wanted. Once I had Imported it into premiere, I read through the tutorial and began. http://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=21225&seqNum=1

I had to use the pan effect to set the begining image (the full picture), then I set a key frame half a second in, this is where the effect starts, then i selected the last keyframe, and set the pan efect to show the end image (zoomed on the eye).

this gave me the desieed zoom efect I required.

I then added the 'whats that?' sound file to the movie, And I also added 'Play', 'Pause', 'Slow Play Back', and 'Stop' Icons Using Premieres Title maker.

I then added a Title at the front which I faded in and out, and some credits at the end usin Premiere's title scrolling text creator.

The last piece of editing I did was add n mp3 file for background music, the whole file was three minutes, so I had to cut it down to th 20 seconds of the movie. after this, i faded it out at the end.

I also wanted the music to fade but still play during the main ten seconds, so I faded it, but kept the bar so it didnt reach the bottom and fade completely.

I then exported it using several codecs but the same options,

editing part 2

After I added the first clip, I added the second clip, the same clip, but this time i wanted it to pause as if a person watching it had paused it, so I right clicked and chose frame settings I think, (I'll check tommorow), and I set it to pause, on the End point of the clip. It therefore looks like the video lays, then pauses. The length of the second clip was to be the same length as a sound file of me saying a little phrase, 'Now wait a darn minute', in an american cowboytown sheriff sort of way!
once I'd cut the clip to the same length, I added a 'crystaline' effect to it, and changed the size of the crystals to 8 I think.
This fuzzes the screen as if pusing a video tape.

I wanted the next clip (the same one again) to appear as if going backwards at the orriginal speed (which would be slower than the first clip), and pause at the center point. once I had the whole clip playing backwards, by setting the duration to minus 100 (-100), I cut the clip down the middle, then froze the second clip at the start pont.

it'll make morre sense when I upload some screenshots tommorow.

started

Ok, right, well, yesterday I started editing my movie. and guess what? I started editing my backup movie, and the reason behind this is simple. I thought that I'd start with my backup because I thought I could get it done and finished before I should start on my main idea, so that if I didn't finish it, at least I would have something to hand in.

I then came to the conclusion, after starting to edit my backup, that I could do alot more technical changes to the simple idea that it is, I can change and iprove my ideas for it as I go along instead of following a scrpt. (which would have been hard anyway!)

So, I started putting my movie together,I dragged in my clip to the time line and began editing. I wand the first clip to happen quite fast, so I right clicked on the clip in the time line, clicked 'speed, then set the time length to 00:00:02:00 which is 0 hours, 0 minutes, 2 seconds, and 0 frames.

I'll write more later...
